Le président du National Computer Board Employees Union (NCBEU), Bonomally Ram, vient d’être suspendu en tant que system analyst au sein de ce corps paraétatique.
Sa suspension a pris effet immédiat après qu’il ait adressée une lettre à la direction invitant la direction à respecter le protocole sanitaire mis en place à la NBC. Deux autres employés ont été appelés également à fournir des explications en écrit à la direction par rapport à cette affaire. L’affaire a été rapporté à la State and Other Employees Union.
Dans une lettre adressée par le président de la State and other Employees Federation (SEOF), Radhakrishna Sadien à la direction, ce dernier souligne qu’il s’agit la d’un acte d’intimidation allant à l’encontre des dispositions de la Worker’s Right Act.
“The federation views this situation with serious concern as the above letter has been issued immediately after a letter has been sent by the President of the NCBEU to the Director of the NCB regarding non-compliance of sanitary protocol following a positive case of Covid-19 of the mother of one of the Managers of the NCB”, sentient-il dans une lettre adressée au ministre du Travail, Soodesh Callichurn. L’agissement du NCB dans cette affaire est condamnable car on n’a pas donné l’occasion à ce dernier de s’expliquer avant d’entériner la suspension.
“In debarring Mr Bonomally of his rights to be heard before any interdiction, the NCB has acted against the provisions of the Employment Relations Act and the Employment Rights Act. On the other hand, two other officers of the NCB have received letters of explanation and their reply would be forwarded to the NCB soon”, écrit le syndicaliste. Selon lui, cette suspension va à l’encontre des provisions de l’Employment Relations Act et de l’Employment Rights Act. “This arbitray decision of the Management of the NCB has accordingly been done with a view to intimidate and harass the president of NCBEU”, souligne le président de la SEOF. Le président de la SEOF invite ainsi le ministre Callichurn à prendre position dans cette affaire.
