In the last 24 hours, there have been 54 new cases in the country. There are 48 asymptomatic cases and 6 serious enough to be admitted to the New ENT Hospital. The Ministry of Health’s release on Thursday 7 also announces that we remain at 1.24% of the population infected since March 2020.
Vaccination rate
871,793 people have been vaccinated and 821,287 doubled. As announced by the Minister of Education, Leela Devi Dookun Luchoomun on Thursday during her press conference, “between 12,000 and 13,000 students have already been vaccinated with a first dose of Pfizer”.
96% police officers vaccinated

Uniform changes
As far as the police force is concerned, the officers will wear their new police uniforms from 11 October. A change after 35 years. The light blue shirt and navy-blue trousers or skirts will be changed to an indigo blue cotton shirt with two pockets and the Mauritius Police Force badge, the name plate with a Coat of Arms badge on the sleeve. For the bottom in polyester and cotton mix, still the navy-blue trousers but with an addition, a band sewn on both sides of the trousers or skirt. The belt will be engraved with the MPF. This change of uniform will concern all units.
