Une vingtaine d’artistes ont été récompensés au Mauritius Music Award 2022, qui s’est tenu au Complexe Sportif de Côte d’Or. Une soirée réussie, qui a réuni une très grande foule avec Jerry Nayna comme maitre de cérémonie.
Alain Ramanisum a remporté le Gold Award. Blakkayo, doublement consacré, a obtenu le titre de meilleur artiste masculin, grâce à son album, Soz Serye, qui a aussi été élu le meilleur album de l’année. Alexandre Sylvain, aussi connu comme Ti Alexandre et Anastasia Perrine, deux jeunes chanteurs du groupe Lion Squad, ont remporté le titre de meilleure collaboration pour l’année 2022 et meilleure artiste Rodriguaise, respectivement. Le meilleur artiste Rodriguais a été Tazou.
Sky to Be comme Best Sega Artist. Vidéo musical de l’année est Mama Africa de Joel Capillaire. Lauréat du prix de la meilleure musique culturelle, Jerry N the Resistance. La meilleure voix féminine est Laura Beg et Linzy Bacbotte remporte la meilleure artiste féminine.
Jerry Nayna a rendu un hommage spécial et émouvant à nos défunts artistes : Marclaine Antoine Géorgie Jo, Carino, Jason Leboucher, LIN, Xavier Figaro (batteur).
